Ruin Katsch
Teufenbach-KatschThe ruins were already mentioned in the 9th, 10th and 11th centuries, which suggests that they were built by the Carolingians.
Several historical works state that the ruins of Katsch were destroyed by an earthquake in 1201. It was discovered that the earthquake did not destroy the castle, but that it has been steadily decaying since the 18th century. In 2001, the Katsch Ruins Rescue Association was founded to counteract this and try to preserve the castle as it is today.
The ruins are freely accessible all year round.
