Knittelfeld is 800 years old and the Knittelfeld Railway Museum is also celebrating
- Wednesday 8 May, 07:30 p.m.: Photograph lecture by Dietmar Rauter "Knittelfeld's railway from 1868 to today" in the Kulturhaus Knittelfeld (admission free)
- Thursday 9 May 2024, from 10:00 a.m.: Opening for the anniversary (vernissage, vehicle exhibition, etc.) Railway Museum Knittelfeld, Ainbachallee 14a
This unique museum tells about the history of the railroad, but also about the social life of the railwayman.
A functional signal box is used to set the route of a train, which is then driven on the driving simulator. On display are collections of pocket watches, railroad ball donations and a railroad cap collection registered in the "Guinness Book". More than 1000 m2 of exhibition space offer interesting facts for everyone.
