viewing tower Kleeberg
GleisdorfThe observation tower on the Kleeberg is probably the most famous sight in the former municipality of Labuch (since 2015 a district of Gleisdorf).
The Kleeberg is a 499-meter-high hill about 4 kilometers south of Gleisdorf, between the district of Labuch and St. Margarethen an der Raab. The staircase with over 140 steps was built in October 2001 on the initiative of the artist and sculptor Fred Höfler and the then mayor Johann Zengerer. Architect DI Johann Wahlhütter helped plan this 31.7 meter high observation tower.
We ask for your understanding: The car park is open to you free of charge from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Please make sure to leave the site by 9 p.m., as the barrier closes automatically. In the event of a lock-up, you have the option of contacting the on-call service at the Gleisdorf Economic Court at (03112) 2601-552. We have to charge you an expense allowance of € 35.50 for this.
Hiking around the Kleeberg lookout tower: Not only autumn as a classic hiking time lures you into nature - also in winter with snowshoes, in spring in search of the first signs of spring or in summer with a final bathing fun - the many hiking trails are just waiting to be discovered. The "Hiking with a View" circular hike in the Gleisdorf region's leisure and exercise area "Hiking with a View" leads through meadows and forests to the "Kleeberg" and the Europaberg with plenty of variety and views. The hike can be shortened for a short circuit.
