Analog- & Digital Fotomuseum

St. Peter a. Ottersbach

The museum was opened in 2009 from a collection of Johann Kurzweil, and provides insight into the history of photography and film from 1890 onwards. Film cameras, which are exhibited from 1924 onwards, provide insight into the development of the film world.

From analog to digital

Among the exhibits in the photography museum in Dietersdorf am Gnasbach near Sankt Peter am Ottersbach are real rarities. The showpiece of the collection is a travel camera from 1890 with glass plate negative. The development of photography and film is explained on the basis of over 1000 exhibits on display, and sound and office technology round off the program.

"In 1826, the first photo required a whole day of exposure time," says Johann Kurzweil, who has been collecting historical cameras, film cameras and projectors for several years. The collection of the Analog & DIGITAL Photo Museum in Dietersdorf am Gnasbach, which is unique in Austria, can of course be visited all year round by appointment.
